SEGER IDEATM

Seger’s Novel Solution – LAP IATM

Bowel resection surgery involves removing all or part of the intestine. After resection, the surgeon creates a common opening in the two bowel sections to connect them (anastomosis).
Laparoscopic bowel resection and anastomosis is a preferred method over open surgery because of its clinical benefits to the patient. At present, the majority of resections and anastomoses are performed outside the abdomen (extracorporeal). While Extracorporeal Laparoscopic Surgery may still be preferred in certain cases due to familiarity or perceived ease of extracorporeal anastomosis, Intracorporeal Laparoscopic Surgery is increasingly favored in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery for its superior patient outcomes. The reason is the difficulty and complexity of laparoscopic suturing by surgeons.
SEGER Surgical Solutions introduces the SEGER IDEATM, a laparoscopic bowel closure device that quickly and securely aligns, closes, and staples the common enterotomy to allow 100% intracorporeal anastomosis, without the need for suturing.
The IDEA is introduced via a standard 12-millimeter trocar.

The SEGER IDEATM improves patient care, provides better outcomes, and reduces health care costs.
Improves Patient Care
  • Fewer surgical site infections (SSIs)
  • Fewer incisional hernias
  • Smaller incisions, more cosmetically placed
Results in Better Outcomes
  • Requires smaller incisions
  • Eliminates risk of bowel twisting
  • Reduces need for additional surgery
Cuts Health Care Costs
  • Reduces procedure time
  • Reduces post-op complications
  • Shortens length of stay (LOS)

About Us

SEGER Surgical Solutions is developing the first easy-to-use closure device that enables 100% Intracorporeal anastomosis.
The SEGER IDEATM is a laparoscopic stapler that enables not only to make the anastomoses but also to close the common enterotomy intracorporeally.
Intracorporeal laparoscopic surgery offers less trauma, faster recovery, reduced pain, smaller incisions, and fewer complications compared to extracorporeal techniques.
SEGER IDEA™ is your first step towards 100% Intracorporeal Anastomoses
SEGER is a portfolio company of The Trendlines Group, located in the Misgav Industrial Park in Israel’s Western Galilee.
